Pre-Natal Reformer
Class Details
Overview
Support your body through every trimester of pregnancy with gentle, specialized spring-resisted movement. Located at our Dorval studio, Prenatal Reformer offers a safe, nurturing environment to maintain physical strength, relieve pregnancy discomfort, and prepare your body for birth.
At Willow Wellness Centre, our certified instructors understand the unique biomechanical changes that happen during pregnancy. Utilizing the adjustable support of the Reformer carriage, wedged pillows, and tailored spring tension, we focus on safe core stabilization, pelvic floor awareness, chest opening, and hip mobility. Our small-group classes allow for personalized modifications so you can move comfortably, protect your posture, and build physical stamina for labor and motherhood.
Benefits
- Targeted Birth Preparation: Strengthen pelvic floor muscles and deep core stabilizers to support delivery and encourage optimal fetal positioning.
- Pregnancy Pain Relief: Ease lower back tension, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, and shoulder tightness by strengthening posture and opening tight hips.
- Safe Core Engagement: Learn how to activate deep abdominal muscles gently without placing pressure on abdominal separation (diastasis recti).
- Improved Circulation & Energy: Boost blood flow to ease swelling in feet and legs while enhancing daily energy and mental well-being.
Ideal For
Prenatal Reformer is the perfect fit if you are:
- Expecting Mothers (Any Trimester): Looking for safe, physician-cleared exercise tailored to your changing body.
- Seeking Joint-Friendly Exercise: Wanting to stay active without putting harsh pressure on relaxed ligaments and joints.
- Managing Pregnancy Aches: Experiencing postural shifts, pelvic girdle discomfort, or tight upper back strain from breast changes.
- Looking for Maternal Community: Connecting with other pregnant women in a warm, non-intimidating West Island studio environment.
What to Expect
- Maternal Modifications: We utilize wedge pillows and side-lying setups so you avoid lying flat on your back after the first trimester.
- Mindful, Gentle Tempo: Class focuses on controlled movement, breath synchronization, and joint stability rather than high-intensity strain.
- Pelvic Floor Integration: Clear verbal guidance on releasing and engaging the pelvic floor muscles in harmony with your breath.
- Studio Essentials: Grip socks are required for all Reformer classes for safety and carriage grip, available at our Dorval front desk.
