Class Details
Overview
Ready to elevate your Reformer practice and push your athletic boundaries? Performance is our high-energy, intermediate Reformer Pilates class designed for clients who have mastered carriage stability, foundational alignment, and smooth machine transitions.
Located at our Dorval studio, Performance turns up the pace, resistance, and variety. At Willow Wellness Centre, we blend athletic conditioning with deep-layer core mechanics—utilizing layered spring tension, complex movement sequences, and specialized props to build stamina, power, and lean muscle tone. If you are looking for an intense, joint-friendly workout that challenges your balance, agility, and muscular endurance without sacrificing form, Performance is your next level.
Benefits
- Advanced Muscular Stamina: Build high-level functional endurance and long-line muscle definition through continuous, paced resistance work.
- Complex Core Stabilization: Challenge deep core and back stabilizers with dynamic balance tasks, single-leg work, and multi-planar coordination.
- Prop & Resistance Variety: Utilize Pilates rings, resistance bands, stability balls, and hand weights to target smaller stabilizing muscles.
- Enhanced Athletic Capacity: Improve joint stability, power output, and physical coordination that translates directly into everyday athletic movement.
Ideal For
Reformer Performance is the perfect fit if you are:
- An Experienced Practitioner: Familiar with all Reformer mechanics, spring changes, and quick carriage transitions.
- Seeking Higher Intensity: Looking for a faster-paced, challenging workout that leaves you energized and sweating.
- Conditioning for Sport & Life: Wanting to build athletic power, leg drive, and upper-body strength with zero harsh spinal impact.
- Looking for a Physical Challenge: Ready to test your balance, muscular control, and mental focus on the carriage.
What to Expect
- Faster Paced Transitions: A continuous, fluid class flow with minimal downtime between exercises and spring adjustments.
- Layered Prop Integration: Dynamic use of Pilates arcs, rings, bands, and weights to heighten muscular fatigue and precision.
- High-Reward Precision: Intense movement sequences guided by certified instructors focused on keeping your form sharp at higher paces.
- Studio Essentials: High-grip socks are required for all Reformer classes to maintain traction and carriage safety during athletic moves.
How do I know if I am ready for Performance Reformer?
We recommend taking a minimum of 5 to 10 Progressions (or Foundations) classes first. You should feel completely confident with spring adjustments, carriage control, and maintaining core engagement during fluid movements.
Is Performance high-impact?
Not at all. While the intensity and pace are high, the Reformer carriage and spring system keep all movements smooth and low-impact, protecting your knees, hips, and lower back.
