Reformer Foundations
Level 1
Class Details
Overview
Step onto the Reformer with confidence and establish a strong, resilient physical foundation. Designed specifically for our Dorval and West Island community, Foundations introduces essential Pilates principles, intentional breathwork, and correct machine setup in a warm, welcoming environment.
At Willow Wellness Centre, we don't believe in intimidation or fast, sloppy movements. Our small-group Reformer classes ensure you receive personalized attention from certified instructors who actually take the time to teach you proper alignment. You will learn how to navigate spring resistance, adjust straps, and safely activate deep core muscles to counteract desk-bound posture, ease back strain, and build functional body strength. It is also an ideal session for experienced practitioners seeking a lower-intensity workout focused on precision and skill refinement.
Benefits
- Machine & Spring Confidence: Master carriage control, footbar adjustments, and spring tension settings so you feel completely empowered in any Reformer class.
- Core Alignment & Posture Correction: Target deep-layer abdominal and pelvic floor muscles to support your spine and relieve lower back tightness.
- Low-Impact Joint Conditioning: Build long, lean muscular strength using fluid spring resistance that protects knees, hips, and shoulders from harsh impact.
- Refined Body Awareness: Learn how breath integration and precise joint tracking transform standard exercises into deeply effective movement.
