Rebounder
Level 2
Class Details
Overview
Experience a high-energy cardiovascular workout that is exceptionally gentle on your joints. Rebounder combines dynamic cardio conditioning with the precision of Reformer Pilates by utilizing the jumpboard attachment (trampoline-style mechanics) while you lie supported on the sliding carriage.
Located at our Dorval studio, this intermediate class is designed for clients who want to elevate their heart rate, boost leg drive, and burn calories without the harsh spinal compression of traditional running or jumping. At Willow Wellness Centre, our certified instructors guide you through rhythm-driven jump sequences, core stabilization drills, and targeted strength work to leave you feeling energized, sweaty, and light on your feet.
Benefits
- Low-Impact Cardiovascular Fitness: Build heart and lung endurance with zero harsh impact on knees, ankles, or lower back.
- Dynamic Leg & Glute Power: Target calves, quads, hamstrings, and glutes through kinetic, plyometric jump mechanics.
- Deep Core Stabilization: Engage abdominal and pelvic floor muscles continuously to maintain spinal alignment during carriage movement.
- Improved Coordination & Rhythm: Enhance reaction time, balance, and motor control through fluid, rhythm-based movement sequences.
Ideal For
Rebounder Reformer is the perfect fit if you are:
- Seeking Joint-Friendly Cardio: Wanting a high-reward cardio workout that respects sensitive knees, hips, or lower back.
- An Intermediate Practitioner: Confident on the Reformer carriage and ready to add dynamic motion and speed.
- Looking to Boost Power & Agility: Aiming to improve athletic leg drive, foot mechanics, and spatial awareness.
- Wanting an Energizing Sweat: Ready for a fun, fast-paced class that breaks up traditional Pilates routines.
What to Expect
- Jumpboard Mechanics: You will spend a key portion of class lying horizontally on the carriage, pushing off and landing softly on the vertical jumpboard.
- Interval & Strength Blocks: Expect alternating blocks of cardio jumping, arm and core strengthening, and targeted leg work.
- Core-Centric Guidance: Constant instructor cues on landing mechanics, foot articulation, and abdominal engagement to protect your spine.
- Studio Essentials: High-grip socks are required for traction on the jumpboard and carriage stability throughout class.
Is Rebounder safe if I have knee or back sensitivity?
Yes! Because you are lying horizontally on the carriage, your spine and joints do not carry your full body weight during the jumping motion. This drastically reduces impact while providing a fantastic cardio boost.
Do I need prior Reformer experience before taking Rebounder?
Yes, we recommend taking a few Foundations or Progressions Reformer classes first so you are comfortable with carriage movement, spring tension, and core engagement.
