Class Details
Overview
Discover the beauty, grace, and physical rewards of classical dance in a warm, welcoming environment. Located at our Dorval studio, Beginner Ballet & Cardio introduces foundational ballet technique paired with light, rhythm-driven cardiovascular conditioning designed specifically for adults.
At Willow Wellness Centre, you don't need years of dance training or high-level flexibility to enjoy ballet. Our certified instructors break down basic barre work, foot articulation, arm placement, and spatial coordination step-by-step. By blending classical technique with low-impact cardio intervals, this class helps you build postural strength, ankle stability, and core endurance while enjoying a joyful, uplifting workout.
Benefits
- Postural Alignment & Grace: Open your chest, lengthen your spine, and engage core stabilizers for an elegant, upright daily posture.
- Low-Impact Cardio Endurance: Boost heart health and stamina through fluid, rhythm-based movement sequences that protect joints.
- Ankle & Lower Body Strength: Build resilient ankles, calves, quads, and feet through fundamental barre footwork and balance drills.
- Core & Balance Coordination: Enhance spatial awareness, motor control, and balance through graceful center work and port de bras.

Not at all! This class is designed specifically for beginners. You can wear standard activewear (leggings, tank tops) and practice in grip socks, ballet shoes, or bare feet.
Is this class high-impact on the knees or ankles?
No. All cardio elements are low-impact and modified for adult bodies, focusing on fluid transfers of weight, foot articulation, and rhythm rather than heavy jumps.
